Andrew formerly was a Government Relations attorney with Latham & Watkins LLP, where he represented numerous charitable organizations. He also served as Interim Executive Director, pro bono legal counsel and a member of the Board of Directors for FilmAid International. A frequent speaker on human rights and immigration/refugee law, Andrew has testified as an expert witness before the U.S. Congress, and he has appeared in national media outlets such as ABC News, NPR, the Washington Post and the New York Times. For his advocacy on behalf of refugees and asylum-seekers, the D.C. Bar honored Andrew as "Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year" in 2002, and in 2006, he received the "Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award" from the Legal Aid Society.
